Can't Bear To Leave

Church of Christ Youth Group annual trip to Pigeon Forge for Challenge Youth Conference. Very clean, safe, and efficient. Great location far enough away for beautiful quiet atmosphere but only 15-20 minutes away from all the action.

We have stayed with Cathy every January for 12 years and have never been disappointed. This year the snow storm came 2 days after our arrival. Cathy made sure we had absolutely everything we needed just in case. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

This cabin is roomy, beautiful and such a well thought out space. It’s is clean and fully stocked. Don’t hesitate to book. It’s everything and more!

Everything was wonderful and it looked better in person than it did on the pictures. I planned to make it the my first choice if it’s available whenever I get ready to book a trip back to Tennessee

We had a lovely time at this place. It’s cozy and beautiful and comfortably slept three families. There were a few things lacking, such as no kitchen towels, available, which made it hard to hand, wash our breakfast dishes in the morning and put them away in order to leave by checkout time, as was the requirement. Having to get all dishes washed and put away and all beach towels washed and put back felt like something the cleaning service should do that we’re paying for as part of the rental fee. Other than those things, it was a lovely place to stay!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our cabin stay.
It is large enough to accomodate a lot of people yet has a warm and cozy feel. This is our third stay and hope to make it an annual tradition.

Our overall experience at "Can't Bear To Leave" was a delight. For the second time, we felt at home and enjoyed the beautiful view, weather and superb accomodations. We plan to return for a Christmas Cabin getway in December.

One matter we felt you needed to be aware of. The bed linens in one bedroom on the main floor had not been laundered very well. There was stain and body hair on the fitted sheet. Those assigned to the room simply removed them, washed them, and exchanged them with the bedding in the loft area. We know you are very attentive to your property and it's care, so we felt it was right to make you aware.

Great Vacation with the Family; cabin was perfect.

Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was about a 30 min drive into Pigeon Forge. The cabin owner had many supplies available in the cabin...lots of towels, wash clothes, kitchen supplies, laundry detergent, etc.

Can’t Bear To Leave was so beautiful and huge! It was perfect for our multiple family vacation with plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably and hang out. The amenities were unbelievable, too, from beach towels to laundry detergent/dryer sheets, sunscreen, etc. We really didn’t need to bring all the extras like we did. We had 6 vehicles of all sizes, and there was plenty of parking space and still room for more. We had “guests” (bears) visit us during our stay in the mornings which we were hoping to see! The kitchen has plenty of seating between the kitchen table and the island. We never had any issues of having to wait for others to take showers or use the bathroom since the cabin has 3 full bathrooms, one on each level. I just can’t say enough about this property. ❤️ and miss it so much. Cathy and her staff were very helpful and so nice at all times. I highly recommend Cathy and the Shagbark Community! If you don’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you will make it up the mountain. Can’t Bear To Leave is the perfect name for this place bc I just couldn’t bear to leave and even shed a tear or two as I left! I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. The views are amazing, too.

Everything was just perfect. Second year in a row that our youth group has stayed at Can't Bear to Leave. Hoping to stay there for a third year in 2024.

Our family of 11 looked forward to this for months. Our grandchildren visited the virtual tour numerous times which only made their anticipation grow! We were not disappointed. The children ran in going from level to level, room to room, around the deck, and looking from the loft. The game room was a hit. The adults enjoyed a full day of SEC football and the soccer championships. The ladies did some shopping but the best was the comfortable surrounding at the cabin. We hope to make it a tradition! The beds were very comfortable and the entire cabin was stocked over the top! We had all we needed and then some. Thank you for taking such good care of your property.

This was an awesome cabin and we had a great experience. The host was wonderful and cabin well stocked. Beautiful views and plenty of room for all of our family of 9. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin was beautifully decorated with lots of cute bear touches to pay homage to the name. We love sitting on the back porch and looking out at the beautiful view. There were plenty of activities for our teenagers to do in the basement.

Our cabin was beautiful and was perfect for our family. We had so much fun, even when the bears came around was exciting until on 2 different days one decided to get inside one of our vehicles. We loved being up on the hill to ourselves, the only problem we had was we went a whole dad and a half without water that wasn’t good especially having 6 kids 7 and under, and we only got our garbage picked up once the whole week. They were nice enough to come out on a Sunday to try and fix the water but had to have someone come out the next day to get it working. Overall it was an amazing vacation.

It was well equipped with all that was needed In our stay. The view was beautiful and the smoker's did not disappoint. It was way up on the mountain. We did not realize that it was such a winding and narrow roadway
All in all a great experience. Loved it.

Our rental experience was excellent. We had everything we needed for our stay and we’re very comfortable at our cabin. We had a group ranging in age from 1 1/2 years old to 81 years old. There was enough for everyone to do and plenty of room for all.
We even had a problem with one of the door handles breaking while we were at the cabin. We contacted the owner by text and she came to the cabin while we were out and fixed the problem on the same day. She even fixed another problem we had not told her about. She was super polite and responsive to our request. We would definitely stay at this cabin again.
