Refunds and cancellations

Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund. No credit will be given for shortened stays due to late arrival or early departure for any reason. No cancellations due to weather other than heavy snowfall in Sevier County, Tennessee. Bookings paid by card must be refunded to that card. No refund until 14 days after receipt of checks or bank drafts.

Welcome information

I try to send welcome letters by e-mail about 10 days before your arrival for all cabins.

Shagbark has a 24/7 manned security gate. If you are in the security gate computer you will always have admittal during your length of stay regardless of the hour.

If you booked one of the 11 cabins in the Shagbark community I will have sent an e-mail asking for the number of cars expected, a driver first and last name and a cell phone number for each car. This is for your safety. Shagbark is 1300 acres with 17 miles of roads. No one picks up a cabin phone when it rings, so your cell phone, which will receive text messages in almost all locations in the community is the only way to alert you to safety issues like a tree down blocking a road, power outages, icy road conditions or threat of fire.

Shagbark requires the information in order to enter guests in the Security computer. No one is allowed to enter Shagbark if the information is missing. So I do not send welcome information with door codes until the information is provided in time for me to enter it before guest arrival. Please allow 24 hours for me to receive your message and log into the Shagbark computer then send your welcome information. I do not want you to be inconvenienced at the Security gate.
